The Ritual of Aftercare Workshop

Sunday 10th May 3-5pm 2026 – Bournemouth, BH1

Aftercare: A practice of Grounding After Intense Play

High-intensity scenes can take us into altered space – physically, emotionally and psychologically. Whether you’re exploring D/s dynamics, impact, rope, primal play or other forms of kink, what happens after the scene matters just as much as what happens within it.

Aftercare isn’t just a cuddle or a glass of water.

At its core, aftercare is a bridge. It’s an intentional practice that helps you return to a sense of groundedness and steadiness. It allows you to stay in the pleasure and connection a little longer, while gently re-entering the world.

This workshop is designed for those new to kink, exploring power exchange, or curious about building safer, more grounded play.

Your facilitator is experienced kinkster and educator, Alice Nan!

Alice has been part of the kink community for many years, both in the UK & NYC. Their approach is rooted in lived experience, ongoing learning, and active participation in community spaces. They’re passionate about creating spaces where curiosity feels safe, connection is intentional and people are supported in engaging with kink in ways that feel authentic and sustainable for them.

Alice shares ongoing reflections on kink on Instagram: @alicenan_

In this interactive workshop, we’ll explore:

  • What aftercare really is an who it’s for (hint: everyone)
  • What happens in the body during high-intensity scenes
  • Why “drop” happens and how to recognize it
  • Practical ways aftercare can look across different scenarios
  • How to negotiate and agree aftercare before you play
  • The difference between aftercare and trigger care

Through discussion, guided reflection and small group exercises, you’ll build confidence in identifying what aftercare looks like for you and how to communicate that clearly.

Aftercare is not an optional extra. It transforms intense experiences into opportunities for deeper connection and supports safer, more sustainable play.
