An Introduction to Rope Scenes for D/s Dynamics with Talulah Teal

For aspiring or exploring Doms and subs who would like to learn how to use rope in their dynamic to create exciting and intentional scenes for play.
Join Sub in the City for an afternoon of rope exploration with our guest facilitator Talulah Teal.
Talulah Teal fell down the shibari rabbit hole as soon as she joined the kink scene, and this avid bunny has seen no reason to resurface since! She identifies as a rope bottom and self-tier, and has trained with a variety of shibari instructors in the UK and Europe. Talulah also has a background in dance and circus arts, and brings principles of movement and body awareness to her rope teaching and practice.
Whether you’re brand new to rope or have been exploring for a while, this partnered workshop is designed to introduce you to some basic knots and rope techniques that are a simple yet effective way to uplevel your play sessions.
In this workshop, we will go beyond the technical, to understand how you can use rope intentionally to set the mood and the tone for your power dynamic, offering inspiration for sensation play, body handling, ritual and intentional presence when dropping into your Dom/sub energy.
We’ll be covering:
- Grounding and presence
- The basics of safety in rope
- Basic tying techniques
- Structuring your scenes with intention
- Guided exploration time
- Aftercare and debrief
This workshop is 3 hours and will include a short break in the middle. There will be drinks and snacks provided on the day.
Please bring with you:
- Yoga mat
- Comfy, breathable clothing
- Water bottle
- Rope (if you have it)
We will have a limited number of ropes on the day so if you can bring your own rope, please do so.
